Amy Thai
21 1/4 x 15 x 13 3/4 in
Rendered here in transparent glass, this sculpture revisits Thai’s
earliest marble works from the 'Undercurrent' series, one of which now belongs to Fondazione
Barovier&Toso. The work comprises multiple elements that can slightly move
in relation to one another. The crystal-clear material captures light and
shadow differently from every angle, its transparency allowing the viewer to
see through and into the form simultaneously. The sculpture maintains the
organic, flowing quality of the marble works while demonstrating glass’s unique
capacity to hold light within its mass.
