Peter Kogler

These tubes take their cue from Ercole
Barovier’s iconic checkered pattern glass designs from the 1950s, in which
Kogler recognised an unexpected echo of his own visual language. The
cylindrical shape paired with this pattern belongs at once to Barovier’s
decorative tradition and to Kogler’s repertoire of pipes and conduits. The
convergence of form and motif feels almost inevitable, as if the two visual
systems had been drawing closer across time, the black and white grid becoming
both historical reference and contemporary system, a three-dimensional
expression of structure, repetition and interconnection.
