Fabrizio Plessi
19 3/4 x 27 1/2 in
Plessi's drawings represent
an exploration of form, documenting bottles and drinking glasses in various
arrangements – from single studies to comparative groupings of two or three
pieces. These elaborate sketches capture the artist's process of measuring and
calculating the sculptural distortions, with annotated dimensions and colour
notations that map how turbolenza transforms the archetypal vessel. Though
independent artistic statements, the drawings also embody the dialogue between
creative vision and the technical realities of glass production while paying
homage to Barovier&Toso, the world's oldest glassmaking company,
established on Murano in Venice, renowned for glass artistry since the thirteenth
century.
