This suspended mobile pairs two of Kogler’s most
iconic motifs: the brain and the globe, both illuminated from within. The composition
is deliberately simple, with the mind on one side and the world on
the other. Together, the two luminous forms distil the central preoccupations
of Kogler’s practice: the brain as an image of cognition and networked thought,
the globe as a sign of planetary connectivity and digital information flows.
Suspended and casting light, the work extends Kogler’s exploration of systems
into three-dimensional, kinetic form while alluding to the Enlightenment ideal
of knowledge as luminosity, the individual mind and the connected world.
