Art of the Treasure Hunt: Gardens in My Dreams, organised by Luziah Hennesy, Castello di Brolio and Fèlsina, Chianti, 1 June – 15 October 2025
Galleria Barovier&Toso participated in the 6th edition of ‘Art of the Treasure Hunt: Gardens in My Dreams’, curated by Luziah Hennessy at the historic Castello di Brolio and Fèlsina winery in Chianti. Set against the breath-taking backdrop of the Ricasoli family estate, home to the family since 1200, the exhibition invited visitors to explore the vivid landscapes of the subconscious through contemporary art. The gallery presented sculptor Amy Thai's evocative glass, marble and porcelain works, which explored the relationship between materiality and nature's organic forms. Thai's sculptural pieces were exhibited alongside works by internationally renowned artists including Refik Anadol, Apollinaria Broche, Pring Bunnag, Sam Falls, Patrick Jacobs, Jonas Mekas, Massimo Listri, Aidan Salakhova and Alexandra Vertinskaya. Working across diverse mediums – ceramic, glass, marble, painting, textile, sculpture and AI – each artist brought their unique perspective to the exhibition's dreamlike exploration of gardens as realms of imagination.

Vlastimil Beránek, a third-generation cast glass artist from Czech Republic – a pioneering centre for cast glass artistry – transforms rigid material into fluid form through his monumental sculptures. His technique involves heating glass to its molten state and pouring it into moulds where it slowly cools, creating substantial forms impossible through blowing. The Czech tradition of cast glass, which gained prominence in the 1960s-70s through the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, revolutionised glass as a fine art medium. Beránek's abstract compositions, often featuring circular forms, capture ephemeral phenomena like sound waves and emotions in permanent, luminous expressions. Light interacts with these translucent structures, creating experiences that transform with each viewing angle. This exhibition presents works from 2017 to 2024, where the paradox of solid glass conveying fluid movement invites contemplation of life's contradictions. Through his mastery, Beránek creates sculptures which join opposing forces: permanence and transience, solidity and motion, revelation and mystery.

Galleria Barovier&Toso announces the opening of a new exhibition space at Palazzo Barovier&Toso on the island of Murano, Venice. The inaugural exhibition ‘Glass Art in Dialogue’ reflects the gallery's mission to promote glass as an autonomous medium of expression in the context of contemporary art. The exhibition features artists Marija Jaensch and Amy Thai. Both were involved in the collective tribute that Fondazione Barovier&Toso dedicated to Venice and its natural environment during the 60th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale: the exhibition ‘H2O Venezia: Water Diaries’. Selected for the launch event ‘Glass Art in Dialogue’, Jaensch and Thai worked with glass for the first time, collaborating closely with master glassmakers to translate their artistic visions into this material. The exhibition brings together the glass sculptures created through this experience alongside works from 'H2O Venezia: Water Diaries', creating a dialogue between glass, stone and textile. By presenting two artists whose works entered the Fondazione Barovier&Toso Collection, the gallery places glass – the city's defining material – at the centre of a dialogue between different media.
